I never sold a house before. It was bad enough not to have any idea about how to go about all this, but to make matters even more interesting, the house was in Illinois and we're in Pennsylvania: a long-distance sale. Fortunately, when I pulled up a website about realtors in the Villa Park area, Julie Mara responded--almost immediately. I liked her from the moment we started our phone conversation. She struck me as a realtor with a heart. . . and we needed that. The circumstances we were facing in this sale required more than the requisite knowledge of the market and how to go about getting a piece of property sold. Corny as this may sound, my 98 yr old uncle (whose property needed to be sold--quickly) and I needed some understanding and compassion as well. My uncle is legally blind and has been the sole occupant of the property for over 15 years. The condition of the house was far less than desirable, but Julie hit the ground running. She handled the listing and all the usual realtor duties very efficiently, but what I appreciate even more is that she stayed in close communication. She patiently explained the process, what needed to be done and how to do it. More than a realtor, she became a trusted friend who helped us through some very stressful circumstances. To say we're happy this process has come to the desired conclusion is an understatement. To say I deeply appreciate Julie's knowledge, skill and attention to every detail is even more of an understatement. Julie helped us through a very difficult experience and I appreciate all she has done more than words can say.

In May of this year (2010), we attempted and successfully completed a complicated move from another state into Illinois. There were difficulties, as always, in keeping the two escrow processes on tract, scheduling the movers, transportation, etc. Through a referral from a relative, we were very fortunate to enlist Julie Mara from your office to be our purchasing realtor. Even though the seller and buyers in this transaction were both out of state, she kept in close and constant contact with us throughout the whole process. She knew that time was of the essence, and was aware of the difficulties we were going through.
